the rebel by albert camus my new favorite camus! and that’s saying a lot because i already loved the stranger and the myth of sisyphus. this one dives deep into absurdism and how it’s philosophies can be applied to rebellion. this was written around the time of the french revolution so revolts and rebellions (different but similar) were heavy on camus’ mind. i’ve definitely been integrating a lot of this thinking since putting it down. 8/10

where the crawdads sing by delia owens i really don’t get the hype around this book. sorry. i don’t understand why it’s called a mystery when the killer is obvious the whole time. it’s not just foreshadowing she’s just straight up telling you who it is and how they did it. i kept waiting for a twist that never happens. i wrote like 10 better endings in my head while reading it. also there’s some problematic age gap stuff that was super uncomfortable to read but you’re suppose to be cheering for the older man??? it’s hard to explain on here because onlyfans blocks a lot of words but if you’re really curious about my opinion this book was included in my “rating the books i read in 2022” youtube video on my channel loserlex ❣️
