Sometimes I feel sad…. Writings March 2022 Sometimes I feel sad My heart goes out to people whose pain I can relate to Perhaps that’s selfish But I am not sure how to deeply empathize with pain, struggle, that is very foreign to me It’s when the emotions hit, the story, the experiences, remind me of hardships I‘ve been through That emotions well up in me I feel upset that others are stuck in a dark place The cycle of trauma is rough, hurt people hurt people as they say And I would also say that often, those who have been hurt, may continue to be in that position For both ends of the stick it seems people are stuck in a cycle until they break through, start charting a new course, cutting through the vines Sometimes you hit rock bottom, to give you a surface to get a good push off from And then you can start heading in a new direction, if you are able, if you choose, if you can dream it, see it, you can chase it, make it yours But my heart is heavy, for so many suffer But as years pass, the more I realize, there is so much JOY that I didn’t know existed I bet there are countless amazing emotional experiences, that I have yet to discover and unlock As above so below, like a tree and roots To the darkest depths of despair, there is a gurgling brook of joy and freedom It’s enticing, exciting to me, that I can look forward to more uplifting energy in my life I have built the tools over the years, and continue to do so
